Alexandre Sá is still a boy, poet, black, gay and consecrated to Oxóssi and Airá since 1997. He was born and grew up in Madureira at the crossroads of the communities of São José Operário, Serrinha and Cajueiro, in Rio de Janeiro. He lived for a long time in Irajá with Avenida Brasil as a useless landscape from the window of his flat. Today he lives in Niterói, but it's still the same. Or almost.
B SIDE
Alexandre Sá lives in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. He is an artist, researcher, curator and art critic. Post-doctoral fellow in History at PPGH-UFF under the supervision of Daniel Aarão Reis. Post-doctoral fellow in Philosophy at PPGF-UFRJ under the supervision of Rafael Haddock Lobo. Post-doctorate in Contemporary Art Studies at the Universidade Federal Fluminense under the supervision of Tania Rivera. PhD (2011) and Master (2006) in Visual Arts from the School of Fine Arts at UFRJ, having been supervised by Glória Ferreira. He graduated in Artistic Education (Habilitation in History of Art) from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2002). He is currently director, professor at the UERJ Art Institute and the Postgraduate Arts Program (PPGARTES) at the same institution. Procientist. He is a hybrid professional who works with various languages (performances, installations, drawings, paintings, videos and writings) and the particularity of his plastic-theoretical research are the relationships between text, image, poetry, the body and psychoanalysis. He is editor-in-chief of the magazine Concinnitas of the Institute of Arts. Coordinator of the Research Group "Contemporary Art and the Mirror Stadium", certified by CNPQ. Member of the Brazilian Association of Art Critics. Member of the National Association of Researchers in Plastic Arts - Artistic Poetics Committee. Member of the National Association of History.
